The Drama Unfolds: ‘Rebecca’ Musical US Premiere Planned For 2011!

The DramaMusical ‘Rebecca’ by Michael Kunze and Sylvester Levay is scheduled to open in America in 2011 with a bow in Toronto ahead of premieres on Broadway and the West End.

Based on the Daphne du Maurier novel, Michael Kunze’s German-language production played first in Vienna in 2006, with subsequent sold-out performances in Tokyo, Moscow, and many European cities.

Christopher HamptonMultiple Tony Award (Les Liaisons Dangereuses, Sunset Boulevard) and Oscar winner (Dangerous Liaisons) Christopher Hampton signed on to work with Michael on the English-language adaption of ‘Rebecca’.

Produced by Ben Sprecher and Louise Forlenza, this world-famous story of soul-searching healing and love at Estate Manderley will be directed by Francesca Zambello.

About the Author

Achim Thiemermann aka Chef Keem is a German-born chef and musician, since 1981 residing in Austin, Texas. As a pop music composer during the 1970's, Achim collaborated with Michael Kunze on a number of musical projects. He considers Michael as the most influential professional mentor of his life, as well as a dear personal friend.
